The Fast And Furious
The muscles of Vin diesel, the beauty of Paul Walker, the winking girls or the music and the fast cars?
Easy things, all stuff from spineless and "flashy."
"The Fast And The Furious" is only one. This one. A movie of 1954
directed by John Ireland. The only film that can boast of this title.
A monumental and legendary B movie, a true masterpiece of the genre.
Filmed in nine days, also using real footage of a race, was one of the
first films in which the great Roger Cor man has had a hand, figures
such as producer and pop.
"The Fast And The Furious" is a road movie, crazy, fast, fun and full of errors and inconsistencies. Is a B movie isn't it?
A film that has all the stereotypes of action films, starting with the
characters, through the relationship between them and finishing with
incredible cars scenes.
Our protagonist is named Frank Webster, unjustly convicted of murder,
he escapes from prison with a sports car, a Jaguar XK. The road to
freedom, however, isn't easy and necessitate the abduction of the
beautiful blonde Connie.
The two fugitives are in the road to Mexico, and the police continue to
hunt them. To disperse and pass the border without attracting attention
Frank and Connie sign up for a car race that takes place a few meters
from Mexico.
The fatal attraction between Frank and Connie is obviously expected and replaces the initial fear and distrust of the girl.
Mistakes as we said at the beginning,
and we have a big choice. The most remarkable one is the moment in
which Frank is making the rounds of qualifying with the timekeeper (and
organizator) from far away can see everything, even commenting time, to
which Frank, who obviously feels, does not avoid to say his point view.
It 's obvious that with the modern "Fast And Furious" ithe only
link is in the title and not in the history. A very similar plot we can
findin "The Chase" with Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson.
About John Ireland, the protagonist
as well as director of the film, we can truly said the he had a really
interesting career. He was born in Vancouver and then raised in New
York he has participated in numerous B movie, but also several major
films as "My Darling Clementine" of John Ford, arriving at the Oscar
nomination with "All the King's Men" by Robert Rossen. An Actor rather
talked for his private life, he opened a restaurant in Santa Monica
before died in 1992 of leukemia and before having the star on Walk of
Fame in Hollywood.
Dorothy Malone, the blonde Connie was also an
artist. She was a famous b-movie actress, but time by time she cut out
important roles in movies as "The Big Sleep" with Bogart, the musical
comedy "Artist and Models" with Dean Martin. Dorothy won an Oscar in
1956 as supporting actress for "Written on the Wind" ending his career
in 1992 with an appearance in "Basic Instinct". With all due respect to
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, we prefer this rustic version.
