THEM!

Even the ants in their little become nuclear. One year after the first movie mutation for radiation, arrives the quiet and industrious ants that become huge as a result of the usual nefarious experiment.

"Them!" 1954, directed by Gordon Douglas an excellent craftsman of that cinema, is a masterpiece of "B Movie" that plays well all the possible cards.

A film that starts, as everyone in the genre, from the atomic afraid, and even throws in biblical quotations, not forgetting all the typical cast of characters, and a vaguely funny side as a significant achievement.

The beginning more than convincingly shows us a little girl that turn around in the desert  in a catatonic state. The police found her, as well noted the barbaric murder of her entire family. A mystery, that will soon be solved thanks to the involvement of the elderly and partially funny, Prof.Medford a famous myrmecologist accompanied by his beautiful and capable daughter "Pat".
The two discover precisely these huge ants that wander through the desert by emitting high-pitched noises. The solution seems easy enough: the nest and eggs must be destroyed. But unfortunatly some ants have already fled, someone has embarked on a ship and others have reached Los Angeles.

This is a very rich plot that adds that situations on situations. Excellent special effects, such as the reproduction of the monsters or the reconstruction of the caves.

The comic relief given by Prof.Medford, a great scientist, but also little dumb, create and interesting and excellent movie from start to finish.

There is also a very good cast. James Whitmore,a famous actor starred in several films and popular television series. James Arness is anotherwell known  actor and in this film plays the policeman Robert Graham. Small part to Fess Parker the famous "Davy Crockett" and the TV series Daniel Boone. History told that Walt Disney was looking for an actor for the hero Davy Crockett. So, he saw "Them!" to saw James Arness. But he was impressed by performance of Parker who was auditioning and then hired in spite of many other best-known actors. Parker became a star. And someone says that radiations hurts!
