The Curious Dr.Humpp
Oh, please ... use my body to keep you alive!
The mad scientist is mad and is also a maniac. A pretty good
combination! So as not too bad is the result of this Argentine "B
movie" that you should see even if vision will make you at least turn
your head for a number of things really nonsense.
The director Emilio Vieyra, who in his career also worked on
screenplays, however, going down in history of cinema as one of the
pioneers of the south american exploitation and sometimes earning
comparisons with the good Ed Wood.
Given the circumstances it's easy to imagine where "The Curious
Dr.Humpp" goes so far and all it's easy to think that the hand of the
director led by lucid madness. And 'it is.
In defense of this great artist, we must say that we have encountered
in the American version of his film, originally titled "La Venganza Del
Sexo", a version that used as the time varies from the original and
adds, almost at random, some soft-core scenes, pushing even more to the
"trash" throughout the movie.
Artifact or not a movie that is called the "Venganza Del Sexo", we can hardly imagine the total lack of sex scenes.
With a suggestive word of "La Venganza" (The revenge) in the title and
that "Sexo" put right after, this movie opens to horizons of
horror, eroticism and little 'sci-fi.
Characteristics that lead us to the horror in the wake of those "Il
Diabolico Dr.Satana" or "Seddok The L'Erede di Satana" (to name two
seen here), certainly better made, but they share with this film the
main character: a scientist/Doctor, ready for the "worst things" to
find a formula that solves his problems.
The eroticism is instead the backbone of the film, which takes us from
moments of elegant soft-core to other really low alloy. The profile is
complete with terrible special effects and costumes good (Maybe) for
carnival.
The beginning, however, is fascinating. A lot of music, black and white
film which emphasizes the darkness and if you are interested, a lot of
naked girls, a view that never abandon us.
Unfortunately the story go on and more trash things are coming, as a good "B movie" which is also slowing down the narrative.
we remain hanging to a lot of naked bodies and on a black and white film, while we are
trying to follow the story of Dr.Humpp.
The mad and freak scientist about who we spoke at the beginning and,
who likes to kidnap couples during sex acts. A bit 'voyeur and
especially poorly accompanied, given that he takes input from a brain
that lives and speaks from a container and that the abduction are made
by a being with an alien appearance (with a visible mask on the face of
papier-mâché!). The only normal person seems to be the
blonde and beautiful nurse who works in the laboratory.
Blood is the central interests of this cheerful "working group"
that after having kidnapped the couple, they drug them with
aphrodisiacs and while the couples are having sex they pin their blood
in the hope of obtaining a potion useful for their purposes. Of course
any good plan always has its pooper, who interfere and give much
thought to the Humpp's group.
This is a movie that will appeal to exploitation and "B Movie" lovers,
who love trashy and crazy films. This is a movie very "hard" for the
times in which it was made. Do not miss!
