The Erotic Adventures Of Zorro

In the hectic world of soft-core and exploitation of the golden era, David F. Friedman was certainly a producer of considerable importance. One of those who give work for us today.
The list of the movies on which he put his hands is almost endless and is composed of B Movies passed into history. We find among them "The Erotic Adventures of Zorro", a hot and comic version, of the hero with the Z, with interesting situations and moments decidedly boring.

What hampers this 1972 movies is a too slow narration, an  excessive duration, about 100', due to the presence of long soft-core scenes, aspiring to be hard core and that aren't, inter alia, memorable.

Some of the erotic interludes seem much glued to the film, with the classic simple pretext that makes clothes fly off and entangle the bodies. Don Diego says goodbye to the Spanish Academy greeting everyone with a memorable orgy on the notes of flamenco, or the beautiful Maria, is seduced with two words by her friend Helena and Helena had hot moments, again thanks to two words, with Don Diego.
It must be said, however, that the humor is not bad, the parody sometimes reaches high levels and we can see significant effort in the scenery, the costumes and sometimes, just sometimes, in directing.

So, sometimes we like it and we sometimes we don't this version of Zorro that tries to follow as much as possible the original story of the masked avenger. Don Diego come back home from Spain because in Los Angeles, in Ciudad De La Reina the villain Luis Bonasario convex heavily the people. "If you want good government, you have to pay" is his motto, which translates into executions in public place of the debtors and payments of debts with virgins.

Don Diego called home, pretends to be gay by day and by night, dressed in the clothes of Zorro, begins to put things right, not disdaining the pleasures of the flesh and the company of beautiful Maria.

It could be an explanation for the fact that it is a film not entirely successful, to emphasize that there are as directors Robert Freeman and William Castleman, who had previously worked with Friedman in the delicious "Trader Hornee", but they aren't directors but respectively editor and composer, but also the screenplay written by the same Freeman, with Friedman and Bob Cresse has several flaws and the sum of the two doesn't create a full successful movie.
Jacqueline Giroux is the beautiful and chaste Mary (at least until she meets Zorro) and is an interesting character in the cinema's world. In addition to starring, often in minor roles, several movies, Jackie Giroux was the co-founder of Global Entertainment Holdings Inc, a production and distribution company of low-budget film and producer of several films, as well as having other interests in various companies. John Alderman legendary actor of exploitation past plays Esteban, one of the villains.
