 Un Poliziotto Scomodo

For any problem there is the commissioner Olmi. Keep quiet. An iron policeman able to manage situations and dangers worthy of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is unforgettable when he goes on a crane and breaks into a school to free the hostages, he is incredible when he uses his very precise aim, and he is great when he shows his intelligence at the service of the law.
In addition Francesco Olmi has the service blond mustache, the magnetic gaze (often framed
and the fame of the great Maurizio Merli. Better than American stars.
Francesco Olmi is an annoying policeman, for the criminals but also for the untouchable. In Rome he struggle against several people and he discovers and denounces the shady dealings of the Head of Customs. But nobody seems interested.
Tired of not being understood and tired of injustices he goes as far as possible. Maybe because we are in the seventies and at time people moved less, or for production needs but at the end he goes only to Civitanova Marche, the homeland of the director less than 300 km from Rome. There nothing happens Olmi has to settle to blow up a fight in a bar to defend the honor of a woman, played by Olga Karlatos, teacher in exile from Turin that welcomes the Commissioner.
There, the blond hero discovers by chance turns a weapons trade that involves some important persons. And again our hero shows his incredible aims, his intelligence and an enviable shape.
Stevie Massy who had already showed his passion for the poliziotteschi with plenty of action, created at the end of 1978 a movie with stereotypical characters, the protagonist, as already said, refers to the heroes of American action cinema.
The plot split in two different stories. The first part is full of action the second is slower but with an exploit-paced ending.
The result is a heterogeneous movie, a little 'didactic, but in the end it works, although isn’t one of the best movies of Massi.
The decision to create a story with many actions preserving "Convy Buster" to be a copy of the copies, even if it gives us so many moments of unintentional hilarity, such as stroking gaze the of Olmi to the abandoned gun in the drawer, and other interesting things.
Merli doesn’t change his way of acting and Massi use his features catching close-ups of his magnetic gaze whenever Olmi/Merli say something important. Olga Karlatos is the beautiful, a perfect role for her, but she has the misfortune to be the turning point that leads us into the slowest part of the movie.
The cast apart from the two mentioned above is full on of experts actors of "genre cinema" as Massimo Serato, Nello Pazzafini, Marco Gelardini and many others. Music by Stelvio Cipriani and photography by a young Sergio Rubini.
