She tells to him not to call tits but breast. He squeezes them and
since they are already naked in a river, they continue petting and then
have sex. Let's suppose, considering what happens next, that they do it
a second time, but at the most interesting point arrive her parents.
And they're angry. And they try to force her to get married. But she
flees to São Paulo.
Sometimes we watch movies without knowing anything, driven by the wave
of enthusiasm of the title or its country and "Volúpia de
Mulher", literally the "woman's voluptuousness", translated into
English with a terrible "Chick's ability" attracted us for both
reasons. We are in 1984, we are in Brazil and for some, not everyone,
and this is an episode of "Pornochanchada". The lucky genre of erotic
comedies, inspired to the Italians that has been rocking in the
seventies and the first half of the eighties, with hot stories, more
than Italian ones, launching also important artists.
We said that everything attracted us but we did not expect such a
shocking start, with naked bodies, soft-core scenes, and even an erect
penis. The rest of the story continues with so many nude and sex
scenes, based on a happy ending story but more dramatic than comic. We
find Cristina, the girl seen at the beginning, in the hospital after
giving birth. She found hospitality at Oswaldo’s house, a trans
best known as Lili Marlene, who is a prostitute and pimp but he is
good. To this strand of history is added that of a doctor (who is
Cristina's doctor) engaged with a painter who brings to bed the models
and Carla a prostitute protected by a brute who wants to kill Oswaldo.
Cristina's son has some serious health problem and must be operated. A
very expensive operation that drives the girl quite to the prostitution
and above all to making the model for the painter above. And the two
fall in love.
A poor production that exploits homes and public places, with a low
quality directing and acting, for a story full of events and especially
interestingly narrated. Because all these exciting stories are tell
with continuous flashbacks, which apart from not always respecting the
flow of time that pass, can, for a while, keep the spectator's
attention high. Then the last minutes are all for the soft-core scenes,
a little boring, then comes the happy ending and a little noir twist
(so to speak).
"Volúpia de Mulher" directed by John Doo, a Brazilian/Chinese
director, with Helena Ramos and Vanessa Alves, is a poor film
technically but with interesting ideas. Must see to know a cinema that
is not always considered at these latitudes.
