Aliens: Zone of Silence

Without listing a huge number of movies, is since many years that directors tries to frightening us with horror story shot with a lively hand to show that those are real and amateur’s shots.
The found footage that works since many years, worked at the end of the century and in the new millennium (sometimes), losing the effect of "It’s true?" on the audience.
This widely used style and the stories about the aliens, even older, have not frightened Andy Fowler already famous for visual effects for several important films such as "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian", "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and "Pinocchio" by Benigni and here Fowler changes role writing and directing, this film of 2017.
Aliens and "amateur" shots have the logical consequence that we are talking about abduction. Moreover, to be precise, the abduction of the "Zona del Silencio" a Mexican area between Chihuahua, Coahuila and Durango, where legends on sightings and magnetic activities run for a long time, exciting fans of the genre.
Hal and Alex, two friends, go to Mexico to shoot a documentary about sightings. They mysteriously disappear. The sister of the first one, Morgan, goes to the place to look for her brother and she stays there, between hot days, cold nights, coyotes and strange noises. Helped from home by Goose, who follows her gradually, the girl discovers several disturbing things, starting from her brother's report. As the tagline says: you are not alone.

In addition to the basic idea, even the story itself is already seen and easy to guess. However, "Aliens: Zone of Silence" reaches the goal thanks to Fowler's ideas and his ability to tell and above all to show. Between webcams, mobile phones, GoPro, microcam, nightcam, placed on tripods, manages to create a narration interspersed with flashback that makes the story more interesting, completing all with excellent photography and a nice editing.
In front of the camera, the four main actors give life to intense characters starting from Morgan, played by Sarah Hester, to pass to friends Hal and Alex, Peter Gesswein and Jed Maheu and close with Vince Tula who in the role of Goose gives life to a great duet with Morgan.
