Io Zombo, Tu Zombi, Lei Zomba

Those were years of heroic zombies, in every angle of the world.  The gold mine of "cinema di genere" gave birth to a big numbers of succesfully movies. So funny the italians, as ever  what comes to mind? A parody of the living dead.

So far, it all works. The idea is brilliant and the cast is fabulous: Renzo Montagnani, Cochi Ponzoni, Gianfranco D'Angelo, Dulio Del Prete,  Anna Mazzamauro, and a young actors: Tullio Solenghi. Not to mention an ass and its owner, Nadia Cassini.

But these names must have consumed the production budget, which is forced for the rest to save heavily. And so here's a film that from start to finish using disproportionately "the art of handcraft" in all starting with the plot. A film already criticized by the same actors, including the same Montagnani, which would have called it a "huge crap".

But this time, however, we are not entirely agree with the great Tuscan actor, this movie is bad, we agree, but at the end, "Io Zombo ..." is an original work especially for Italian cinema and there are some funny gags, such as the impediments pre-murders and friendship that comes with the victims.

Of course the story doesn't not have a great logical and is often very distracting. But the worst problem is that it wastes a very good cast of actors.

Nello Rossati tries to tell the story of an undertaker (Renzo Montagnani) fan of horror books while he is reading a story in which there is a magic formula brings to life three people involved in an accident. For fear he dies too and the three bring him back to life. They are hungry and they started to look for food, human flesh, in every way, giving rise to a number of situations in which the victims highlight the stupidity of the hunters.

Then came the bright idea, that is, to take refuge in a hotel and especially to handle it, with the intent to eat their guests. Nadia Cassini or to put it right  her butt, is a guest of the hotel, but instead of ending up in the pot, she delight everyone with a dance on the table in the dining room. No, no one is eaten at the end and because we are still in Italy, spaghetti for everyone.

Classic case of "so bad so good " this 1979 film is a true "scult" a must for cinefile. A product made in Italy to be proud of (so to speak).
